Books
From business, to cooking and everything in between, these are my go-to books when I want some motivation or inspiration! ( Hey, a lady's gotta read while she's off on all these globe trotting foodie explorations!)
Leaders Eat Last
Simon Sinek outlines the various roles of leaders throughout history and organizations in such a way, that it makes one stop and re-think what it means to be a leader. After reading this book, I gained a new level of respect for those I know who hold leadership positions in my own organization. Some, I view through more forgiving eyes, and others, I want to give this book to. Try it out for yourself and see what it does for you
#GIRLBOSS
From the CEO of Nasty Gal, Sophia Amoruso, comes the razor sharp tale of a young girl coming into her own as a boss lady CEO. This book's got everything! From tales of shoplifting and E-bay mean girls, to venture capitalists and Boardroom shot-calling; this book is not for the timid.
Year of Yes
To be honest, I'm not that big into Scandal. And, to be even more honest, I didn't really care about How to Get Away with Murder.... That is, until I read this piece by Shonda Rhimes. By getting to know the author, I suddenly cared about her work. Suddenly, I HAD to watch all of the seasons of Grey's Anatomy on Netflix. Anyone who has worked this hard to become their best self, in my opionin, deserves ALL of the support I can give. Thank you Ms. Rhimes for giving me the courage to live our my very one LIFE of YES.
